New Yorkers deserve the freedom to control their own lives, futures, and healthcare decisions, including the right to reproductive freedom. Prop 1 is a constitutional state amendment that puts the power in the hands of New Yorkers, not politicians.
Since Roe v. Wade fell, reproductive rights like abortion, contraception, and IVF have been under attack across the country. That’s why Prop 1 must pass: to make sure reproductive rights are permanently protected in New York State. Prop 1 cements these rights so they cannot be rolled back in the future.
And Prop 1 doesn’t stop there: it also closes loopholes in the state constitution to make sure that no New Yorker can be discriminated against by the government. Currently, New York’s Constitution prohibits discrimination in a very limited way, only based on race and religion. Prop 1 is a comprehensive Equal Rights Amendment that protects all New Yorkers from any discrimination based on their gender, age, ethnicity, pregnancy status, disability status, or if they are LGBTQ+.
When you VOTE, remember to flip your ballot over and vote YES on Prop 1.
