Houston-Austin Local TV/Theatrical Contracts Wages & Working Conditions Committee Meeting

 SAG-AFTRA is inviting all members who work the SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contracts  to the upcoming Houston-Austin Wages and Working Conditions meeting via online webinar.

 

Members who work these important contracts are needed to provide valuable information and input during this process leading up to our national negotiations. Your participation is vital!

Casting Notice: Austin Script2Screen Live Read

The Austin Script2Screen team is now accepting cast submissions for a live reading of the feature-length screenplay Pound Cake by Scott Honea. The Script2Screen LIVE series provides professional actors to read unproduced film or TV scripts before an industry audience. Selected scripts are by professional writers and/or festival winners. They are rehearsed, directed and performed by union talent for one performance only. 

When: Sunday, June 2
Rehersal and live read will occur all in one day. 

Houston Script2Screen Live Read

May 05, 2019 - 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM PDT

Where: 1010 W. Sam Houston Hwy, Houston, TX  77043

Houston Script2Screen will present An Evening of Dark Fun on Sunday, May 5! Professional actors will perform a live reading of unproduced short scripts before an industry audience. 

Two scripts will be presented at this live read: 

  • The Border by Norman Fitts: The desperate things a parent will do to protect his family, and his country.
  • Witchdoctor by Henry Kana: A priest and a Mayan witchdoctor team up to defeat the devil when he tries to claim the souls of the priest’s friends.

Audience reception immediately following the performance at 5 p.m.

Where: Houston Community College Spring Branch Campus
Performing Arts Center (Screening Theatre in middle of campus)
Corner of I10 and Beltway 8.

Free parking. Open to the public with light refreshments following the performance.

Script2Screen is an unpaid stage performance presented to a live audience. We are committed to diverse, inclusive casting. TV/Theatrical W&W 2020

The W&W process will kick off with a national video conference held simultaneously around the country for a presentation of the Outlook for Scripted Dramatic Live Action Entertainment. This presentation will help the membership understand the current state of the industry under which SAG-AFTRA will be negotiating the TV/Theatrical Agreements, which will expire on June 30, 2020. In addition to this presentation, SAG-AFTRA will be holding local W&W meetings, stakeholder caucus meetings and national W&W videoconference meetings throughout the months of May and June.
